Emma S. Madden
The work of Emma Simone Madden is rooted in a fascination with geometry. The concepts that underlie the fundamental elements of this mathematical discipline and the visually appealing aesthetic quality that geometry affords, create a sense of ‘balanced beauty’ that inspires Emma. Her bold and striking pieces are also influenced by the mechanics of small and large structures. This influence and mathematical understanding, lead Emma to develop a novel way of engineering precious metal. Her first ‘Kinetic Collection’ – is a series of articulated, customisable, stylistic jewellery. More recently, Emma’s ‘Time Series’ addresses and comments upon temporal asymmetry and one’s personal experience of the transience of time.
