Kayo Saito
Kayo Saito’s work is influenced by plants and organic forms, whose apparent fragility, architectural structure and vital energy always arouse her creativity and fulfil her aesthetic sense. Through carefully chosen materials and designs, Saito creates unusual delicateness and sculptural forms in the shape of precious jewellery. She sometimes uses welding to achieve more three-dimensional and light pieces without sacrificing durability. The fragment collection consists of many textured elements. These tiny shiny objects are imagined as having fallen from the surface of the moon or sun. The petal collection is composed of an assemblage of petal-like elements in the form of brooches, necklaces, earrings and rings. The layered elements create rhythm and movement.
