Pamela Dickinson
Ever since she was seventeen Pamela has loved making jewellery. because it seemed to offer so many possibilities for creativity and self expression. This perception was consolidated by experience, and the more she works the more ideas present themselves. Pamela has a great love of the materials, the relationship with the body and the tactile qualities, the scope for colour, brilliance and three dimensions, the sense of preciousness and permanence and most of all the intimacy of jewellery. Pamela specialises in lapidary, granulation, model making and carving but they are all subsidiary to the main business of communicating through creating objects using original ideas and fine workmanship. Pamela Dickinson makes all her jewellery herself, so while this limits the amount of work she can produce, and the quality is high. Since establishing her workshop in East Yorkshire in 1975, she has regularly supplied her work to a wide range of the best jewellery shops and galleries in Great Britain, which has included Asprey & Co., Argenta Gallery, Boodle & Dunthorne, Liberty & Co., Scottish Gallery, the Lesley Craze Gallery and the Oxford Gallery.
