Paul Battes
From his workshop in the Cotswolds, Paul Battes creates elegantly understated sculptural pieces. Paul’s work is inspired by early 20th century Russian art and the strong geometric shapes used in the architecture and sculpture of this period. Paul Battes collections exemplify the principle of ‘form follows function’ in their combination of wearability and innovative design. He works with the finest quality materials and strives to exploit their natural attributes with high quality craftsmanship. Intrigued by the way in which precious metals can be manipulated, diamonds and pearls are used to enhance his structural pieces. Each collection is exclusive in their design, characterised by the purity of line, movement and flow that form the common thread to his work. His work is displayed in a variety of designer jewellery boutiques and galleries specialising in promoting British designers. Over the last six years he has built up a strong private client base through exhibitions at public fairs, such as Desire and Goldsmiths Fair, and by advertising in high-end fashion magazines. His award-winning Perles de Tahiti UK pendant was featured in Tatler, Vanity Fair and the Retail Jeweller, and his Book-Leaf collection has been promoted in Vogue, House & Garden and GQ.
